Starting a business

The procedure for starting a business varies from state to state, but usually it includes the following steps:
1. Decide on the name of the business, check if it is available
2. Designate the industry for your business
3. Obtain a business license after complying with the relevant state, county, city regulations.
4. Open a bank account in your business name after getting a business license
5. In most countries, for businesses other than sole proprietorships, all cards and bills should be in the name of the business, to be allowed as business expenses.
6. If the business involves sales of a product to the end customer, registration with the relevant tax authorities may be needed.
There are organisations like Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), which is sponsored by the Small Business Administration(SBA), who provide free counseling, workshops and seminars to existing small business owners and those who wish to start a business.
